We publish realistic urban fiction with strong storylines and plots, with richly developed characters of diverse backgrounds. Etta Bertha prefers to focus on the brighter side of urban living with a considerable amount of stumbling blocks included somewhere in between the pages. Nothing too grimey, degrading or violent. Urban fiction can include real romance stories, mysteries, hip hop, etc. At this time we are not accepting any Street Literature.

We are also interested in original personal biographies.

Please submit with your ONE PAGE cover letter and a synopsis along with the first three chapters- no more/no less. Please submit manuscript once because more than one submission will be discarded along with the original. We do not accept electronic submissions. Electronic submissions will not be read.

Your submission must include your name, e-mail address, mailing address (P.O. Box is acceptable), and telephone number on both your cover letter and the cover page of the manuscript. Indent paragraphs; center chapter headers. Standard manuscript format only- double-spaced, one side of the page only. Use the Times New Roman font, 12 or 14 point only in the manuscript. If something needs special formatting explain it in the ONE PAGE cover letter. Please use white, three whole punched 8 ½ X 11 paper. 1 1/2" margins on all four sides of the page. Include the title, author name, and page number at the top of each page. Make sure the print is clear with black text.

PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE RECEIVE SEVERAL MANUSCRIPTS DAILY, ALLOW THREE MONTHS FOR YOUR MANUSCRIPT TO BE REVIEWED. NO SUBMISSION WILL BE RETURNED.
